Detail Itinerary

Day 1Rest for acclimatization and walk around Jumla.

Day 2Jumla to Danfe Langna The trail passes through Sisnaum, at 2830 meters then enters a forest of big trees that soon gives way to meadows. Chere, at 2060 meters, is a long horse, and sheep pasture. Beyond Chere the trail becomes steeper and clumbs through meadows. On the way you can enjoy the view of Viewspatrasi Himal (6860m) and Jogdula Himal (5785m).

Day 3Damphe Logna to ChauthaThe trail descends gently alongside the stream of Tharamara (3280m) the descent becomes steep, through forests fir, birch, walnut & bamboo, again descends of Chautha.

Day 4Chautha to DhotuA rocky trail follows the stream uphill crossing the stream as the wooded valley becomes narwar. The climb continues to Bhubhule, the Rara National Park entrance station at 3130m. The trail continues to follow the trade route to Mugu through the Mandu Khola Valley. The trail passes through Pine forests, and then descends to theJhyari Khola at 2400m. Then easy waling leads to a small settlement of Dhotu.

Day 5Dhotu To Rara LakeCross a stream and make a steep climb to the squalid Thakur village at Jhyari at 2630 meter. It is short descend from here to Rara.

Day 6At Rara LakeRara Lake (3062m) is the largest lake in Nepal. It is almost 13 km around the lake and a day devoted to making this circuit is well spent. The 170m deep lake has otters and fish and is an important resting place for migrating water fall. It is an isolated region where birds, flowers & wild life thrive, ghoral, musk deer, red panda & both rhesus and langur monkeys.

Day 7Rara Lake a Gossain

Day 8Gossain to Sinja

Day 9Sinja to Jaljala Chaur

Day 10Jaljala Chaur to Jumla
